STEP 1 OF 3 — CLEAN

Once the leather has been cleaned and allowed to dry naturally, continue with Mufasa Country Leather Conditioner to nourish and condition the leather. Where appropriate, finish with Mufasa Country Premium Beeswax Conditioner & Polish to help protect, seal and polish the leather.

How to Use Light Leather Foam Cleaner

1. Remove loose dirt

Brush or wipe away loose dust, grit and debris before applying the cleaner.

2. Always test first

Apply the product to a small, less visible area before treating the entire item.

Check for:

• Colour change
• Finish compatibility
• Fastness
• Desired cleaning results

3. Apply the Light Leather Foam Cleaner

Apply a small amount of foam to a suitable clean cloth, sponge or leather-cleaning brush.

Avoid unnecessarily saturating the leather.

4. Clean gently

Work the foam over the leather using gentle, controlled movements.

Do not aggressively scrub the leather. Excessive rubbing can damage finishes, alter the appearance of leather or create unnecessary wear.

5. Work in sections

When cleaning a larger item, work on manageable sections so you can control the amount of product and monitor the leather as you go.

6. Wipe away loosened dirt

Use a clean cloth to remove the dirt and residue lifted during cleaning.

7. Allow to dry naturally

Allow the leather to dry naturally before moving on to conditioning.

Do not use direct heat to speed up drying.

8. Move to Step 2

Once the leather is clean and completely dry, use Mufasa Country Leather Conditioner to nourish and condition the leather.

9. Finish with Step 3

After conditioning and when appropriate for the leather, finish with Mufasa Country Premium Beeswax Conditioner & Polish.

Realistic Expectations When Cleaning Leather

Cleaning Does Not Always Remove Every Mark

Cleaning leather isn’t the same as cleaning a synthetic material.

Sometimes you clean an item expecting a stain to disappear completely — only to discover that the mark remains.

That doesn’t necessarily mean the cleaner failed.

Leather changes throughout its lifetime.

Dirt, oils, moisture, sunlight, abrasion, chemicals, age and repeated use can permanently affect the fibres, colour and surface of the hide.

Some marks may be:

• Deep-set within the leather fibres
• Caused by old water marks
• The result of uneven moisture absorption
• Old body oils and grime absorbed into the hide
• Caused by abrasion or wear
• Discolouration from age and use
• Permanent changes to the leather’s surface
• Part of the leather’s history

A cleaner can help remove surface contamination, but it cannot reverse every change that has happened to leather over years of use.

Sometimes, trying too hard to remove a stubborn mark can cause more damage than the original stain.
