Used correctly, the buff pad helps you achieve a more even, refined finish while allowing you to control the amount of pressure and product being worked across the surface.

How to Use the Leather Buff Pad

1. Clean the leather first

Before applying any finishing product, make sure the leather has been appropriately cleaned using the suitable Mufasa Country leather cleaner.

For light cleaning and regular maintenance, use Mufasa Country Light Leather Foam Cleaner.

For heavier dirt, grime, body oils or neglected leather, use Mufasa Country Deep Leather Cleaner.

2. Allow the leather to dry naturally

After cleaning, allow the leather to dry naturally before applying a finishing product.

Do not use direct heat to speed up drying.

3. Apply Premium Beeswax

When appropriate for the leather, apply Mufasa Country Premium Beeswax to the leather.

Apply the beeswax product according to the requirements of the leather and avoid excessive application.

4. Allow the product to settle

Allow the applied product to settle before buffing.

The appropriate settling time can vary depending on the leather, the amount of product applied and the surrounding conditions.

5. Use the Leather Buff Pad

Use the Mufasa Country Leather Buff Pad with gentle, controlled movements over the leather.

Work evenly across the surface and avoid excessive pressure.

6. Buff gradually

Continue buffing gradually until the surface reaches the desired finish.

If excess product remains on the surface, use the pad to gently work it away rather than applying additional pressure.

7. Inspect the finished leather

Check the leather under suitable lighting to ensure the finish is even and that no excessive product remains on the surface.

Why Use a Buff Pad?

Important: Don’t Over-Buff Leather

Use light pressure and controlled movements, and stop once the desired finish has been achieved.

The goal is to finish the leather, not fight it.

Cleaning and Care of Your Buff Pad

Keeping your buff pad clean helps prevent old product residue and dirt from being transferred back onto your leather.

After use

Remove loose product residue and dirt from the pad after use.

Wash when required

When the pad requires a deeper clean, wash it gently using mild soap and lukewarm water.

Gently work the soap through the pad to remove product residue and dirt, then rinse thoroughly with clean water.

Allow to dry completely

Allow the pad to air dry completely before storing or using it again.

Do not store the pad while it is damp.

Keep separate from heavy contamination

If the pad has been used on heavily contaminated leather, clean it thoroughly before using it on cleaner or more delicate leather.

Realistic Expectations

A Buff Pad Cannot Repair Damaged Leather

A buff pad is designed to help finish and maintain leather-care treatments. It cannot reverse permanent damage to the leather itself.

Scratches, deep scuffs, worn areas, cracking, colour loss, old water marks and other permanent changes may remain after cleaning and buffing.

The buff pad enhances the care process. It does not erase the history of the leather.

Not Every Leather Needs the Same Treatment

Leather comes in many different finishes, colours and constructions. A product or finishing technique that works well on one leather may not be suitable for another.
